Natural Make-Up
After developing fibroids in the 90s, I decided to make a lifestyle change. When I discovered that the development of fibroids is mainly based on diet, I changed my eating habits. I became a vegan and eliminated meat, poultry, dairy and even honey from my diet. I also started to eat chemical-free food and today 98% of the groceries I purchase for my home are organic. Making this lifestyle change has not been easy. There was, and still is, so much I have to learn.
I soon looked into products I used and discovered that everyday toiletry items possessed harmful ingredients that could cause diseases later in life. I was shocked! I thought; I still have to wash my hair, bathe, brush my teeth, apply deodorant, put on lotion and use some sort of oil in my hair. My new lifestyle made it difficult for me to use the products I grew up on so I researched and experimented with many alternative beauty care items until I found a brand I felt comfortable using.
But what about make-up?
I am a girly-girl and enjoy wearing make-up every day. I desperately wanted my make-up to match my diet but for years I could not find an all natural brand that fit my complexion. It was frustrating. Then one day when I wasn’t looking I found a few natural make-up lines that offered a variety of colors suitable for my skin tone. I was just happy to find a foundation that matched me. Honesty, I think additional foundations should be made a few shades darker for the more chocolate skin tones who live an all natural lifestyle. Hopefully, over time, a supply will surface.
In upcoming posts, I am going to share my experiences with various natural make-up brands, as well as provide give-aways to you guys.
