Valentine’s Day

Waiting on the Hubs to say, ‘hey let’s go out for Valentine’s Day’ would have had me waiting until next year. I found it necessary to interrupt his nap by shaking him vigorously to wake up.

Me: “What are we doing for Valentine’s Day?”

The Hubs: “Oh they do stuff on Valentine’s Day?”

Me: “I want to see The Photograph.”

The Hubs: “What is that?”

Me: “There is a 7 o’ clock show. Give me your card so I can buy the tickets.”

We were going to eat at a restaurant before the movie but the wait time was long at all places as this Valentine’s Day fell on a Friday.

Because we were last minute with everything I thought it would be easier to just grab something to eat at the mall and then walk to the movie theatre which is connected.

We had fun eating our surprisingly tasty Valentine’s Day meals from the mall’s food court. My avocado sushi roll and edamame was satisfying and the Hubs said his Philly cheese steak was the best he had ever had.

To kill some time after eating we ran around the mall taking Valentine’s Day pictures in front of various displays and then found our seats in the theatre showing “The Photograph” starring Issa Rae from HBO’s “Insecure.”

I am not going to give away anything but I am going to say I understood one of the characters burning desire to leave a place and start over someplace else. I did it. I did it a few times and each time was very satisfying. I left people behind but at that time I felt like I had to do what I had to do.

I did see a little bit of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and “Love Jones” in “The Photograph” and both of those movies were great so. The Hubs said, “Why did you take me to this movies that I didn’t want to see but end up liking it, feeling for the characters, and being sad.
