Target Haul

Friday, January 17th, 2020

I guess I am going through a phase. I don’t want to shop online. I am tired of waiting for the shipment to arrive. I want my items now. I don’t want to give them time to pack it. I don’t want to wait for them to send it. I don’t want to check the tracking notification to find out where it has been and where it will be before it arrives at my house. I just don’t feel like it.

So with feelings like this I decided to go to Target and search for hair products I might like. I was a little concerned because if I were back home in New York or in L.A. or Atlanta or Chicago I wouldn’t think twice about going to the store to find hair products for me because I know my options would be almost endless.

But because I live in Albuquerque, the pickings for hair products for black people are slim, and I wondered if I would eventually be forced to log on to my computer, search through various websites, and order stuff I wouldn’t see for days to come.

Well, to my surprise, I found a new line from Shea Moisture that I am excited about. Wait…this line is not new. I am just discovering it.

It is called Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration with Fig Extract & Baobab Oil for dry, damaged hair. I am attracted to this line because it’s for 4a, 4b and 4c hair type (I’m 4a) plus it is made for dry hair. New Mexico is very dry. I’ve said this a thousand times and the winter season just makes every single thing extra dry.

From the line I purchased the shampoo, conditioner, hair masque and leave-in milk. I should have gotten two leave-ins.

The manuka honey helps to moisturize and boost shine. The mafura oil is a natural damage control. It softens and promotes healthy hair. And the fig extract was made to keep hair looking vibrant.

I have always been able to find my favorite hair grease, Mimosa Hair Honey Hairdress Shine Pomade for dry, brittle & textured hair by Carol’s Daughter at Target. In my neighborhood I can only find this product at one Target and sometimes the store is out of stock.

I am trying a new hair and skin supplement by Love, Beauty and Planet. Their vegan hair & skin dietary supplements in citrus crush are gummies with natural flavors. The instructions say take two a day for shiny hair and glowing skin. Sixty gummy supplements are in one bottle so, maybe, I don’t know, after three months, I should be able to see a difference, if any.

Please stay tuned.
