As some of you may know I like to keep my hair in braids because of the dry southwestern climate I live in. Braids are a great protective style that holds in much needed moisture.
One day I decided I needed a good braid spray. One that was light and provided the moisture my hair craved. During my shopping search I couldn’t find a spray I thought would work so I started to look around in my personal collection to see what I could find.
I had a half bottle of Shea Moisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist in my collection of hair products and thought about adding a light moisturizing oil to it to see how it would work. I had a variety of oils in my pantry but selected extra virgin olive oil to create the DIY spray.
With a half bottle of mist, I added olive oil until it was full, afterwards I spritzed my scalp and braids until I felt the moisture of the oil. It felt really good. My scalp was relieved. I could tell.
I have to shake the bottle before each use because the mist and oil likes to separate.
I use my homemade product almost daily. It’s a great way to provide moisture and seal it all in in one quick, fun, easy step.
