Everything about LEMONADE is addictive.
Lemonade is one of my favorite summer drinks. I make it from scratch squeezing six fresh lemons, adding cane sugar, and water into a pitcher. The sweet and tart flavor blend quenches my thirst during the warm months. I also use lemon based soaps and creams that provide a touch of cool twang that is much needed around that time of year. So I have always enjoyed lemons.
Now … By now … I am sure everyone has heard of Queen Bey’s new audio and visual collection titled LEMONADE.
I was hooked on it the first three seconds it aired on HBO. I got HBO free that weekend and was able to watch it several times before I purchased the CD/DVD combo. Now I can play it anytime I like for as long as I like, and the Hubs is like, “Oh no not again.” But, it’s like, yes dear just one more time that normally turns into four or five more times.
Anybody who knows me knows when I’m really into something I can watch it a hundred times and not get tired of it.
LEMONADE is the bomb. My favorite songs are “Sorry” and “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and my favorite on the visual is, well, all of them. I love the Louisiana setting.
I don’t get excited about many things but I am about this new body of work. Maybe because, just like many, I can relate. We all have experienced being cheated on or being the cheater ourselves. Then perhaps dealing with reconciliation. These songs penetrate familiar emotions whose voice people hear their own stories in, whatever the stories may be.
