My Favorite Childhood Author

Who remembers, “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.” As a ten-year-old that book truly spoke to me. After reading the book I felt, the author, Judy Blume knew me personally and understood my childhood thoughts. Like, she just got it when no one else did. As a skinny child, who ate everything, I was convinced that there was only one way to increase my bust.

When a friend told me she was on book tour promoting her new adult book titled, “In The Unlikely Event,” I had to take the drive to Santa Fe to meet her. I wanted to say so much more to her than I did but I got tongue-tided. However, I did let her know that I have loved her since the fifth grade and she pointed out that she noticed my bright smile in the audience.

See, this is what I am talking about!
