50 Years Today!

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013

I wish I knew someone who attended the March on Washington. If I was born, and old enough, I would have been there with my signs, buttons and high spirit! Sometimes I feel as if I missed out on so much regarding the development of our nation. But I wasn’t created and/or not of age to participate. If I was I definitely would have been there.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, and one of the best speeches of our time, below is the video of King making the infamous, “I Have A Dream” speech. Enjoy!

What a beautiful picture. My belated grandmother Mrs. Dorothy Mae Baker-Conway was a civil rights activist and was very good friends with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. I grew up in the 60′s and I remember her attending the civil right marches very well.

She help organize the March on Washington. I am so proud to be her granddaughter and hopefully one day will be able to see the Memorial Statue
of Dr. King. :) Thanks for sharing!
