Beauty Pageant

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I love beauty pageants. I started competing four years ago and have had tons of amazing experiences. My family and friends laughed at me when I told them I had entered a pageant. They thought I was too old. After competing in my first competition I won and made several appearances nationwide. Of course, you know, everyone loved me then.

So when there is a pageant on television, wearing all of my sashes (4), I make sure I am in front of the screen munching on a big bowl of popcorn.

Congratulations to our 2010 national beauties Miss America, Caressa Cameron and Miss USA, Rima Fakih.

this post got me to thinking… I haven’t read all of your blogs so not sure if you have discussed this. Do you think we will ever see a “Natural” Beauty Queen Main stream that is i.e. Ms. America/World.? By natural I mean not flat ironed straight, nor wearing a wig, just “what God gave you natural… just a thought.

Hey Cicely, I wonder that myself. A natural isn’t traditional “pageant hair.” But will someone say forget the tradition, I am wearing a twist out, is something that has not happened – thus far!
